Cheryl & Patrick were married during the Winter Solstice in a non traditional ceremony at The Women’s Twentieth Century Club in Eagle Rock, Ca. Patrick and Cheryl had already performed a handfasting ceremony the day before their wedding, but Cheryl wanted to further honor her Wiccan religion by including all four elements during her marriage ceremony. It was also very important to her that their guests feel a part of the ceremony which is why everyone was asked to wear their favorite shade of blue.
Upon arrival, guests were invited to select one of four various boutineers to wear. Each boutineer represented a different element; either water, earth, air or fire and acted as escort cards for the ceremony seating. The Spirit was also present during the ceremony in the form of a large puppet draped in blue which took 3 attendants to maneuver!
Both Patrick & Cheryl are singers and musicians so it was only natural that music play a large part during their ceremony and reception. Cheryl’s mother sang during the processional accompanied by a harpist and Los Angeles band Whispering Pines performed during the reception. Later in the evening both Patrick and Cheryl got up onstage to serenade each other with the band backing them. Honorable mention must go out to the disco flash mob as well! You may remember Cheryl & Patrick from their engagement shoot back in September. Check that shoot out here!
